DATES WITH NUTS

A quick and easy dessert for your everyday life, weekends or special occasions. I really love the blend of different flavors in this dessert. I often make a larger batch, keep it in the fridge and pull it out during the week whenever the kids or I crave something delicious.

Ingredients
Medjool dates
Pecans / walnuts
Almond butter
Dark chocolate bar (I prefer at least 70% of cocoa)
A pinch of salt
Instructions
I wash the Medjool dates and remove the pits.

I place dates on a plate. I add a little almond butter to each date. The amount really depends on your preference. Of course, you can use a generous amount of almond butter, especially if the dessert is meant for active kids or teenagers. I tend to use just a small amount because I'm consciously mindful of my intake of fats, even healthy ones.
Next to the almond butter, I add a whole nut to each date.

I melted the chocolate in a double boiler.
Then, I drizzled the melted chocolate over stuffed dates using a spoon. I sprinkled a little salt on top and placed everything in the refrigerator for at least an hour to let the chocolate set.
